Ampersand had the pleasure of working with Nurture on a full rebrand including Brand design, logo design, promotional materials; a selected range can be seen below.
Ampersand were commissioned to reinvent this amazing charity and to make their visual style work better for them. We created this simple clean logo featuring a Hummingbird. The Hummingbird is an important part of Nurture’s logo and identity.
The bird symbolizes many different concepts – because of its speed, the hummingbird is known as a messenger and stopper of time. It is also a symbol of love, joy and beauty. The hummingbird is able to fly backwards, teaching us that we can look back on our past. But, this bird also teaches that we must not dwell on our past – we need to move forward.

The hummingbird key to Nurture’s logo and identity.
A hummingbird symbolizes varied concepts – because of its speed, the hummingbird can stop, go back and move forward. This is key to the work Irene and her team do at nurture. A hummingbird is also a symbol of love, joy, and beauty.
The rebrand only took a few short weeks to complete. The team were also keen to keep a purple colour theme but we changed the tonal value of this purple to a more vibrant and energetic shade.
